/Imagine(Cowboys) Book
/Imagine(Cowboys) – Limited Edition Monograph
By Tom Adair
This book is a mirror, held up to a fading myth. /Imagine(Cowboys) explores the cowboy not as a man, but as an idea - copied, stretched, and broken down through time and technology. Each painting is the result of a layered process: from Marlboro advertising to Richard Prince’s rephotographs, through AI hallucinations and finally, by hand, in paint. What emerges is a meditation on authorship, illusion and value in an age where everything can be reproduced.
In addition to the paintings, a limited-edition monograph has been produced as both an archive and extension of the exhibition. More than a book, this is a collector’s piece, printed and manufactured in Australia in an edition of just 100 copies, each hand signed and numbered by the artist.
The book includes every written piece in two forms: once by a human, once by AI, offering a direct and deliberate contrast in voice and authorship.

– 130 pages on premium uncoated matte recycled paper
– 2x Four-page CMYK acetate artwork inserts
